Refacing

We are strong believers in saving our customers as much money as possible and in the process giving them a premium product, that’s why refacing is the true bread and butter of RZ Custom.

What is refacing?

Well, the best way to explain this is to take a minute and look at your kitchen.

Ok?

Now ask yourself these questions.

            1. Are you happy with the way your kitchen is laid out?

            2. Is it functional?

            3. Did you just have a new counter top installed?

            4. Did you just have a new floor installed?

            5. Are you just tired of looking at those worn out old cabinets?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions then refacing is just what you need to breath new life into your kitchen.

We start by removing all your old doors and drawer fronts. We then sand and prep. all exterior surfaces for the refacing material of your choice. Next comes the new wood to cover that hard to clean surface  area under the upper cabinets. Once all this is completed we start the actual refacing.

If you take a moment to look at the old cabinets, you will notice that the grain runs both horizontal and vertical on the old face frames. We here at RZ Custom take the time to cut and fit all those pieces and laminate the material with the grain going in the same direction as the original piece. This give you the true look of custom cabinets.

Once all the exterior surfaces are covered, we are ready for your new doors and drawer fronts. Using state-of-the-art, European, Blum hidden hinges, our craftsman will hang and set your new doors and drawer fronts and install your handles or knobs. The final step is what we like to call “The Icing”. It is where our craftsman install the new crown, scribe and base moldings.

And there you have it. In about three days we have transformed your old, worn looking kitchen into a show place at about one half the cost of new cabinets.

Wait one minute! You don’t like your old cabinets and the kitchen doesn’t quite work for you?

let’s look at “New Cabinets”.

New Cabinets

Ok, So you really don”t like the way your old kitchen works. Maybe you want to change the layout or

add extra cabinets. RZ Custom has the answers.

RZ Custom will never sacrafice quality for the extra buck. All of our cabinets are constructed with 3/4” melamine interiors, that includes all tops, bottoms and adjustable shelving. The backs are manufactured from 1/2” melamine, adding extra strength and insuring that all cabinets are square.

Our face frames are constructed from 3/4” solid lumber and are glued and screwed together according to industry standards.

All our drawers are manufactured from 1/2” melamine with 1/4” Vinyl bottoms. Larger drawers, such as, pan drawers and drawers wider than 20” are manufactured with 1/2” melamine bottoms. This allows for the extra weight usually associated with these size drawers.

Our roll-out shelves are consturcted from the same material as our drawers with the exception of the bottoms, which are always 1/2” melamine.

All hardware used by RZ Custom is state of the art in this industry, from heavy duty European hidden hinges to self-closing drawer guides. (for more information of these and other products used at RZ custom, see our section under products).

Finally, our expert installation crew is ready to install your new kitchen. Demolition of your old kitchen is completed on the first day and installation of your new kitchen starts the very next day. Remember that the kitchen is sealed off from the rest of the house to insure a clean and happy home.

It’s Friday morning you’re just getting ready to leave for work. You walk through your new kitchen and smile. The door bell rings and you let in our installation crew for the final phase of your new kitchen.

Among the many services that RZ Custom provides this final phase is probably the most important. Our installation crew is ready to put the final touches on your new kitchen. After the moldings are installed it is time for the appliances. Microwave, cooktop, oven, and sink are all carefully

re-installed and hooked up to their respective receptacles. The sink is re-plumbed and caulked and

the doors are adjusted to perfect alignment and if your new handles or knobs are on the job site we will install them for you at no extra charge. Finally all areas are cleaned and the trash is hauled away.

Counter Tops

Now that your new kitchen is installed, it’s time for your new counter top.

RZ Custom offers a wide range of counter tops. From plastic laminates such as Wilsonart and

Formica to solid surface materials, i.e. Corian7 Hi-macs7 and Meganite7. we also offer stone tops such as Silestone7 Technistone7 and granite. (for more information on these and other products used by RZ Custom, click on product information for full details)

Once we have installed your new cabinets or have completed the refacing process it’s time for the counter top fabricators to create a template. Once this process is completed your top is manufactured and installed by professional installers.

Now it’s time to stand back and take in the beauty of your new kitchen. From the well crafted doors and drawer fronts and a design that finally fits to the counter top your neighbors will envy. Everything is finally starting to come together.

There you have it!  It’s now Saturday morning and, in most cases, you are fixing breakfast in your new refaced kitchen. It’s hard to believe this time last week you were fixing breakfast in your old worn out kitchen.
